effect a necessary, focused, and positive change within the African American community - to build
functional communities via (1) developing a sense of community/connectedness, not dependent on
our physical proximity - Am I My Brotha's Keeper? Yes, (2) creating an independent economic
system (no longer will I be a crab in a barrel, but create and participate in this 'kye', community-
based mutual-help movement), and (3) establishing a political body that advocates on the behalf
of the community whether democratic, republican, or other... hold our political representatives
accountable.

The Master Griot Project is creating a system connecting African Americans through our ancient
art form of the griot-the poet-the drummer-the storyteller to create vertical and focused
movement to address the emanate possibility of African Americans becoming a permanent
underclass.  Whereby, I pledge in strength in numbers, thought, and movement to do the
following:
